John McIntyre
John was the President of the Law Society of New South Wales in 2005 and is the senior partner at Redmond Hale Simpson
After growing up in the Lakemba area, John attended Sydney University Law School from which he graduated in 1972.
In February 1973, after accepting employment as a solicitor with a firm of solicitors at Rockdale he subsequently became a partner in July 1974. In 1984 John entered into a new partnership at Kogarah with the firm of Redmond Foster McIntyre.
John served as President of the St George/Sutherland Law Society from 1987 to 1988 and has been a life member since 1993.
John has served as a Court Appointed Arbitrator from 1983 to June, 2004.
John has held many positions with the Law Society of New South Wales since 1997 including Councillor, Director of Law Cover from 1999 to 2006, Director of the Law Council of Australia 2004 to 2006, Chairman of the Property Law Committee 1999 to 2005, Member of the Property Services Advisory Committee 2003 to 2005.
John currently holds appointment as a Cost Assessor appointed by the Supreme Court of New South Wales and has recently been appointed to the Cost Assessor's Rules Committee.
After a long time love affair with the Snowy Mountains John moved to Thredbo 1999 and established our branch office in Thredbo. In doing so John was at the forefront of the electronic revolution which now permits us to serve clients electronically. In many matters this reduces the need to spend time in your solicitors offices. Many legal services can now be performed without the need of a face to face meeting.
John's fields of practice include Conveyancing, sales & purchases of business, Mortgages & Securities, Franchising, Commercial & Business Law, Cost Assessment. John has now developed a substantial client base in Thredbo serving the needs of local businesses and property owners. He currently serves as the President of the Thredbo Chamber of Commerce/Tourism Thredbo.
His interests include skiing, tennis, golf, travel and reading.
