Michael Sommerville

Prior to being admitted as a solicitor in 1985, Michael had four years experience as a Legal Clerk in Commercial Litigation and Insolvency Work.

Michael has been practising as a solicitor for now over 20 years and his practice comprises mainly Criminal Law, Family Law, Commercial Litigation, Equity and Advocacy.

Michael's Criminal practice includes Traffic offences and Criminal Offences. Michael handles matters such as drink driving (PCA), disqualified driving, drive whilst suspended, drive whilst unlicensed, drive in manner dangerous, speeding offences, license appeals, Apprehended Violence Orders (AVO), assaults, sexual offences, robbery, stealing, drugs, firearms, fraud and others.

Michael's Family Law practice includes separation and divorce, de-facto matters, pre-nuptial agreements, child custody, domestic violence, property disputes and settlements.

His other areas of practice include Commercial & Building disputes (including Lease disputes) and Deceased Estate Litigation.

Michael is an experienced court lawyer and has appeared in Local Courts, District Court of NSW, Family Court of Australia, The Supreme Court of New South Wales and Federal Magistrates Court.

Michael is a former President of the St.George/Sutherland Law Society and a current lecturer at the Sutherland Traffic Offenders Program.
